A dew years I had the idea at my local school and parish to do this with limited marketing. We had 7 trees the first year and a record 12 last year.
This year with inspiration from Pope Francis' Laudito Si he asks us all to care for our Common Home.
So I notched it up and promoted online and in local aldermen newsletters.
Sunday my group moved over 100 trees to the city drop site and we have one more day this coming weekend. I expect to hit over 175 trees by end of weekend and raise some money for our church/school. We also created community by engaging neighbors and parishioners (volunteers).
DNAinfo caught sight of us with this story.
So how can you help your community gradually go green? Here is one idea for you next year.
